About Me

Having gained a Masters (MSc) degree in  Humanistic Psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute/Middlesex University in London,  I specialise in creating a warm, confidential and safe, non-judgmental and empathic therapeutic space for my clients where they feel able to explore any difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are getting in the way of healthy living, facilitating them to gain insight into how to go forward and have better relationships with themselves and others.

As a former photojournalist in Fleet Street, I am well aware of how important it is to remain mentally healthy in a competitive world and this past year has been characterised by multiple disruptions for our children, our young

adults struggling within consistent college and university teaching whilst also dealing with the losses of missing essential  connections with their peers  and all of us trying to cope with the stress of working and looking after families and loved ones against the backdrop of constant uncertainties  created by the fallout of the Covid 19 pandemic and Brexit amongst many other things.

Maybe this resonates with your experience or  you have recently suffered a significant life event such as a loss or bereavement, perhaps a divorce or other confusing relationship issue, the echo of which is somehow blocking you moving on and you find yourself  needing effective strategies and techniques to continue living healthily. This is where our work can be so important and useful.

Presently, I am dividing my time between Pimlico, London and Hampshire working both online on Zoom and face to face wherever preferred, in both short and long term settings.

I am a registered and accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and  the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). As such I abide by the UKCP Ethical framework.

Talk to me about...

I am experienced working with a very diverse range of issues including anxiety and depression, low self esteem, bullying, emotional, physical and sexual abuse, loss, divorce, abandonment, attachment and trauma, and with a wide range of Adult clients (18+) including amongst many others, those from the LGBTQ+ and BAME communities, those with a boarding school background and those with personality disorders.
Whether you are looking at this website with the idea of therapy for yourself, a family member or friend, I believe my humanistic approach to therapy, where the focus is on the uniqueness of the individual and their ability to heal, can really provide a compassionate space to explore and enable the unlocking of your inner resources and help resolve anxieties, leading to healthier future relationships.

"Those who love you are not fooled by mistakes you have made or dark images you hold about yourself.
They remember your beauty when you feel ugly, your wholeness when you are broken;
Your innocence when you feel guilty and your purpose when you are confused".
